Erica Whitfield has spent her career delivering for our community, strengthening schools, supporting families, and fighting for smart, responsible growth. Now, she’s ready to bring that leadership to the County Commission.
Erica Whitfield is a dedicated public servant, experienced leader, and trusted voice for Palm Beach County families.
As a Palm Beach County School Board Member, Erica has helped oversee a $5.9 billion budget—one of the largest school systems in the nation—while working to improve student outcomes, support teachers, and ensure responsible, financial management.
Her career in public service also includes managing a $1.9 million scholarship program at the Palm Beach County Health Department and administering grant funding to support critical education initiatives.
Erica has built strong partnerships with local businesses, community organizations, and government leaders at every level. She understands how to bring people together to solve problems and deliver tangible results.
She’s running for County Commission to expand her impact—focusing on affordability, infrastructure, housing, and economic opportunity—while ensuring Palm Beach County remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family.
Erica will review the budget and look for opportunities to streamline programs, cut waste, improve efficiency, and eliminate unnecessary programs. Her priority is a transparent budget that delivers high-quality services without raising the tax burden on families and small businesses,
Erica will work with county staff, private-sector partners, and municipal governments to review and implement the county’s new transportation master plan. We can improve traffic flow by replacing old traffic lights with new adaptive traffic control systems that use cameras, sensors, and AI algorithms to analyze and improve traffic flow in real time.
Erica is focused on making sure more people can actually afford to live in our community—whether it’s working families, seniors, or the local employees who keep our city running. That means cutting through red tape in the permitting process and working with the private sector to find smart, innovative ways to increase housing options at a range of price points.
Erica knows that to remain a leader in Florida’s competitive landscape, our city must have an education system that leads the way. As a former School Board Member, she understands that academic excellence is the foundation of economic growth. Erica will be a partner to the private sector—reducing obstacles to help local businesses expand, while courting new industries and entrepreneurs to relocate and innovate right here in our community.
Erica strongly believes that the first role of government is to ensure that all residents, regardless of zip code, feel safe. She will ensure our police and fire departments have competitive pay so we can recruit and retain the best, and that our first responders have the training and equipment they need to keep response times low and our streets safe.
